The ADESA management team recently gathered with several of our customers at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs for our annual Dealer Council and Client Advisory Board (CAB) meeting. I must say, it was one of our best meetings to date.

The event was filled with hands-on breakout sessions focusing on the customer experience and the auction industry. And while we covered a lot of ground and discussed a variety of topics, we kept coming back to the importance of integrating technology into our business and our industry.

We were also fortunate to have an amazing keynote speaker, Mike Abrashoff, a former Commander of the Naval warship USS Benfold and best-selling author. He really moved the audience with his energetic speech on leadership. He spoke of his “Leadership Roadmap,” which helped him turn his low-morale crew with high turnover into the highest-performing, most cost-efficient and engaged crew in the Naval fleet.

As a result of his methods, he received the prestigious Spokane Trophy for having the highest degree of combat readiness among his ship. But it was his core message that really resonated—empower your people to take ownership, but understand when and where leadership steps in to take the team to the next level.

We also had a great visit to ADESA Colorado Springs and enjoyed the chance to later network and enjoy a few activities including skeet shooting and golf.

I want to thank everyone for joining us for another enjoyable and successful event.
