I’ve been in this industry for more than 30 years, but I can tell you one thing: a ribbon-cutting ceremony never gets old. Especially when it’s for a brand-new auction like ADESA Las Vegas. I expected it to be pretty amazing—I mean, it is Vegas after all—but this three-day ribbon-cutting event truly exceeded my expectations.

We had an incredible turnout: double the regular bid badge count. We had special guests: North Las Vegas Mayor Shari Buck and several of our national consignor reps. We even had a special charity event: an auction for a 2010 Harley-Davidson Sportster. We donated the winning bid for this bike, $8,000, to the NIADA charities.

The selection of inventory was incredible, the turnout was impressive, and it was just a great sale all around. I’m thankful I was able to attend, and I just want to say, “Welcome, ADESA Las Vegas!”
