For my book selection, I chose 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Dr. Steven R. Covey.

In addition to the valuable, time-tested principles of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, I believe there are three reasons why this book can benefit dealership owners and operators:
- Memorable key points: By focusing on the seven key habits Dr. Covey found to be crucial for success, dealers continuously encounter situations where one or more of the habits can enhance their approach to it. Once you integrate these habits into your business and personal life, they are impossible to forget and become a facet of everyday life.
- Value in both professional and personal life: A successful professional life relies on a fulfilling personal life, and many skills complement both parts. I have found that applying these seven principles toward developing relationships with our customers help to create effective solutions that benefit everyone, especially when approaching a challenge.
- Easy to articulate and provide training. In a business context, the book allows me to easily create a framework where my team can communicate their goals and objectives. Applying these principles to your inner team’s training will give them efficient steps to achieving goals.
