Walking into the North American International Auto Show for the first time is kind of like seeing Vegas for the first time. It really hits all of the senses—the bright display lights, the new car smell, the buzz of the crowd and the feel of leather and rubber, carpet and chrome.
Before working at ADESA, I viewed cars as a necessity: the easiest way to get from point A to point B. Surrounded by car guys, I quickly came to recognize the details of quality craftsmanship and appreciate the beauty of innovative design.
So for a newly knighted car gal, walking into the Auto Show was like letting a kid loose in a candy store. People keep asking me two questions. What was my favorite part of the Auto Show? All of it. What was my favorite car? All of them.
From the concept cars to those ready to hit the streets in 2013, there were too many amazing cars to pick just one. Or two. Or three.
I encourage you to look through our photo album. Be sure to check back often, since we’ll be adding images daily.
We’ll also be sharing videos from the Auto Show. Here is one of my favorites because I could smell the rubber burning, hear the motor rev and actually feel the pounding of the engine in my chest as the car broke the 140 mph mark.
I hope you enjoy it. And if you ever get the chance to attend the NAIAS, go. You won’t be disappointed.
