Employees at the KAR offices in Carmel, Indiana, held a record-breaking food drive the first week of November. The KAR team—which includes about 850 employees—donated close to 20,000 food items and nearly $1,300 in cash, crushing previous numbers. That’s a total of 20,299 lbs. donated by KAR, a little over half a semi truckload of products.

All the non-perishables and paper products were donated to the Midwest Food Bank. The Indianapolis division of the Midwest Food Bank provides food to an estimated 60,000 people in 43 Indiana counties.

The 4th annual food drive was also a “Battle of the Floors” competition among KAR employees. The 2nd floor was victorious, collecting a total of 7,923 items, thanks to some extra motivation from floor sponsor Jim Hallett. The winning team will be wearing jeans for a week and celebrating with a pizza party.

Thanks to all our employees who donated and supported the successful project. We are very pleased with the outcome and proud to continue to do good work in our community.
