The holiday season is the most important time of the year for retail sales, and car dealerships are no exception. The holidays also bring a higher volume of car ads, both on television, the radio, print and now digital and social media. Many car manufacturers focus their efforts on the holidays and launch some of their most creative advertising campaigns.

In the past several years, there have been many memorable holiday ads featuring new cars. Here are a few of our favorites:

The Honda ads featuring Michael Bolton, which were introduced in 2013, were immediately popular for their over-the-top set and sense of humor.

The classic Lexus ads with a car wearing a red ribbon bow popularized the idea of the giant bow. Companies that sell oversized bows see an increase in their business every year around the holidays.

Mercedes’ recent “Naughty or Nice” advertising campaign has gained attention for the idea of sending cars to both naughty and nice customers. It is also tied into an e-card that customers can send to their friends, another reason the campaign has been so successful.

This year, Ford is appealing to busy moms with their #Holidaze campaign, showing all the ways that the holiday season can be really busy—but better when you have a Ford.
