One of my favorite parts about working at ADESA is the sheer number of opportunities we have to give back. From food drives to fundraisers, helping others is a core foundation of our company.

This spring I had the pleasure of hosting not one but two live charity auctions, at NADA Show 2018 and Digital Dealer 24, the latter of which took place just last week.

Shortly after my Digital Dealer session—where I offered plenty of  insights to dealers about being more digitally efficient in their wholesale used car capabilities-—I headed down to our booth to kick off the highly anticipated charity auction, which ADESA hosts in partnership with TradeRev.

After I made a few opening remarks to the attendees, auctioneer Brian Smith—who often works the lanes at ADESA auctions in Florida—opened the bidding for a beautiful 2017 Harley-Davidson GX750.

After a flurry of bids, Jamie McBee of Toyota Motor Sales in Blue Ash, Ohio, emerged the winner with a generous donation of $8,500.

The crowd watching the auction chipped in another $100 as a hat was passed around, bringing the grand total raised at our Digital Dealer 24 charity auction to $8,600. All funds raised went to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida, who will grant the wish of a child in the community who has been diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition.

Through both NADA Show 2018 and Digital Dealer 24, the grand total raised during live charity auctions this spring comes out to just over $60,600.

I want to give a big thank you to everyone who comes out to show continued support for our live charity auctions, and an extra big thank you to the generous bidders and crowd members who open their hearts and wallets for some truly amazing causes.
