One of the best parts of my job at ADESA is that I am blessed to work with some truly great people. They are not only helpful in the auction lanes—but they go above and beyond to help others in everyday life, too.
Melissa Bixler is a customer service representative in the ADESA accounts payable department who is known for her willingness to help customers. She recently relocated to Carmel, Indiana, from Vail, Colorado—where she responded without hesitation to a call for help from her next-door neighbor in a life-threatening situation.
A former ski instructor and Vail Mountain Yellow Jacket, Melissa is no stranger to being on-call to assist those in need. Emergency officials on the scene recognized Melissa’s efforts, and she received an extremely prestigious public service award from the Vail Police Department, the Silver Wreath of Valor.
According to the Vail Police Department, this award is presented to individuals who perform courageous acts of community safety that may endanger their own lives. It is the highest honor that the Vail Police Department can bestow on a citizen.
Congratulations to Melissa on her recognition. We’re proud to have an inspiring individual like her on the ADESA team.
