Last week, we had a 2010 Harley-Davidson Sportster on the block during our ADESA Las Vegas ribbon-cutting event. As part of our grand opening, we asked the local dealer community and Harley-Davidson Financial Services to take part in a charity motorcycle auction to benefit the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association Foundation. The final sale price of this Sportster was donated to NIADA charities.

As a charter member of the Massachusetts NIADA, I’ve seen the great work the Foundation has accomplished. The organization’s ongoing commitment to educating and informing dealers and consumers is to be commended.

I want to take a moment and personally congratulate Jose Carlos Urias from CarZone on his winning bid of $8,000. His generous contribution will help support an organization that gives so much back to our industry.

I also want to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who played a role in organizing this event. I take pride in knowing that our team jumped at the chance to add this activity to the grand opening activities at ADESA Las Vegas. Giving back to the community is important to us, and I’m thrilled that we were able to show our support for such a great organization.
