We just wrapped up the first-ever NIADA/NABD mega-conference, and it couldn’t have been more of a success for ADESA and the other KAR Auction Services companies in attendance. ADESA and several other KAR companies occupied adjoined booth spaces so that visitors could appreciate the breadth of our brands, products and services.

This year’s conference theme was “Rewriting the Playbook 2018.” True to its word, the majority of sessions—several of which featured members of ADESA and KAR companies—gave independent car dealers valuable tips and strategies for using more modern tools and technology to improve the overall success of their dealerships. We hope you were able to attend one or more of these opportunities.

We enjoyed our time making new connections with customers. We were also proud to host our sixth charity auction to benefit the NIADA Foundation.

A crowd gathered at the Dealer’s Lounge at the center of the Expo Hall on the last day of the convention to watch the action and bid on a beautiful silver 2018 Honda Accord sedan with fewer than 1,200 miles on it.

The winning bid of $26,500 was made by Chris Haus, of Haus Auto Group in Canfield, Ohio. An additional $565 was collected from several generous spectators during the auction, bringing the grand total raised to $27,065.

ADESA will transport the vehicle for free to any location in the continental U.S. that Chris chooses.

We want to thank Chris for his extraordinary generosity. The proceeds from the auction go to the NIADA Foundation, which coordinates the association’s commitment to charitable giving. The Foundation also awards scholarships to deserving college-bound students across the nation and provides training and educational opportunities to automobile dealers and the general public.

With this sixth event, ADESA-sponsored auctions at the NIADA Convention have raised more than $150,000 for the NIADA Foundation.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the charity auction.
