The Olympic Games are regarded as one of the world’s leading sporting events. With a variety of competitions designed to test physical and mental strength, participating athletes are often hailed as heroes in their home countries.

For a recent Fun Friday event, ADESA and the KAR group of companies wanted to put their own spin on the Olympics. Instead of representatives from more than 200 nations competing in feats of athletic prowess, employees from each of the five floors within KAR headquarters competed in games of skill, luck and spirit for a chance to win medals, prizes and bragging rights.

To start, each floor in the building was assigned a color and was encouraged to dress in support of their team, with bronze, silver and gold medals awarded to the floors that exhibited the most spirit.

Games included KAR Bingo and KAR Repo, a hidden toy car hunt throughout the building. Participants also tested their hand-eye coordination by competing in KAR parallel parking and the KAR Grand Prix with remote-controlled cars. These games involved racing and parallel parking remote-controlled cars. Employees also participated in a raffle for a chance to win gift cards and other prizes.

In the end, Floor 5 took the gold, with spirited showings by Floor 1 (silver) and Floor 3 (bronze). Congratulations to all the winners. You’ve made your “home floors” proud.
